MESSAGE TO EMPIRE
KING’S CHRISTMAS BROADCAST SPECIAL PROGRAMME BEING ARRANGED N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent Rec. 9 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 5. When the King speaks to the peoples of the British Commonwealth on the afternoon of Christmas Day, the hour’s programme which will precede his Majesty's talk, will be introduced by Sir Laurence Olivier. This year the theme of the programme will be .the urgent need for men and women of goodwill to unite in the cause, of peace. The 8.8. C. has arranged for a series of reports from over the world, including brief stories from ruined cities in Europe, displaced persons’ camps, farms, factories and even the lonely weather ships in the Atlantic. Messages from newly arrived British immigrants in various Dominions will be included and linked up with those from miners, factory workers and farmers ir. Britain. The. King will commence his broadcast at 3 p.m.
