STERLING CREDITS
ONLY PAYMENT. BY BRITAIN EXPORTS FROM AUSTRALIA Rec. 9 p.m. CANBERRA, Dec. 5. Australia in the coming year will send a proportion 'of her exports to Britain virtually free of charge according to a Commonwealth official who said to-day that all Australia would receive in return for such commodities as wool and wheat would be sterling credits, which at this stage could not be met. The official was commenting on a statement by the Canadian Minister of Agriculture, Mr James Gardiner, that Britain would have difficulty in financing food purchases from Canada. Credits from Britain will become of use to Australia only when they can be translated into exports from Britain.
