THE WEATHER
OCCASIONAL RAIN The official weather forecast covering the ensuing 24 hours, which was issued yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington, is:— Situation.—A depression Is moving across New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Light south to south-east winds. Weather cloudy,. with occasional brief , rain. , Temperatures moderate. Further Outlook.—Fdir. Weather in- Dunedin.—After a dull morning, light rain began to fall in the late afternoon in Dunedin yesterday, and became steady in the evening. The temperatures ' varied from a maximum of 57.7 degrees tty a minimum of 49.9 degrees, the grass minimum being 47.2 degrees. The' rain which fell totalled 0.04 inch, and the wind was from the northeast. At midnight the barometer read 29.97 in (1015 millibars).
