SERVICES DISRUPTED
BOGEY TRAMCAR DERAILED When one of the bogey tramcars, travelling from the south end to Normanby, was derailed near the trarnsheds about 5.50 p.m. last evening, north-bound services were disrupted " for about 45 minutes. At one stage there were 13 trams on‘the line from 0 South Dunedin, while another eight had congregated on the line from Anderson’s Bay. , , The derailment occurred at the end of the “5 o’clock rush,” but workers as well as late night shoppers were inconvenienced by the delay. Putting the heavy tram back on the rails was a lengthy task, and when it was at last ~ achieved, shortly after 6.30, a thin v cheer was raised by the small crowd of spectators, which included a fair proportion of tramwaymen—motorgien and conductors of the waiting trains. * The services that had been interrupted were again running to schedule in time to cater for the evening traffic.
