SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

A comprehensive list of attractions has been arranged for the Otago senior, intermediate, and junior swimming and diving championships at the Municipal Baths next Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. In addition to the appearance of several of New Zealand’s most outstanding performers in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and medley races and diving displays, a water polo match will be played each night. On Tuesday the Probables v. Possibles trial match will be decided, and as competition is keen for the two teams to be entered by Otago in the national championships a good match should result. On Wednesday night Kaikorai and Kiwi, the leading teams in the B Grade competition, will meet. A feature attraction on both nights will be the appearance of the brilliant 12-year-old Auckland swimmer. J. R. Jai-vis. who holds three New Zealand junior titles.
