WOMEN’S SECTION R.S.A.

Mrs Smith presided at the monthly meeting 6f the women’s section of trie Oamaru Returned Services' Association. It; was reported that 22 parcels had been sent to England last month, making 39 since September. Members who had assisted in the crippled children’s street day appeal were thanked for their services. A contribution of 10s was received from Mrs I. Nicholson for the children’s party fund. It was reported that arrangements were being completed for the party on December 10, when cakes, sandwiches ice cream and sweets would be provided, it was decided to visit the hospital on December 20 and present each woman with a handkerchief, and also to visit the soldier patients on that day. Items during the evening were contributed by Mesdames Booth, Grant, Dolan, Diver, Misses Mulcahy and Stella Kearns, and the Waiareka Women’s Institute.
