The following Vacancies exist at the undermentioned Institutions for Nursing Staff:— (a) MERCURY BAY HOSPITAL, WHITIANGA: t MATRON and ASSISTANT MATRON, with Midwifery and General Certificates. Salary £3OO and £270 p.a. respectively, plus £lO p.a. remote allowance and £5 \P-a. uniform allowance. This hospital is situated on Buffalo Beach, in one of the most popular holiday resorts in the Dominion. The two positions would be admirably suitable for two friends, who could work together. Liberal holiday allowance of 4 weeks at the end of each year, and a week at the end of each of the other three-quarters is granted. His duties include supervision of all phases of work in the farm settlement, where children of both sexes, aged seven to seventeen, are domiciled, and after-care of those leaving the school. Teaching is not a main function of the Principal, but ability to get on with and manage staff of both sexes is essential. Minimum salary, £A7SO per annum, but more may be paid for a man with special qualifications. The Principal will also have a free house, farm produce free to his family, a motor car will be at his disposal, and there are certain other perquisites.
