GIRLS’ MARCHING

MEETING OF COMMITTEE Final arrangements for the Otago marching championships on Saturday were made at a meeting of the Otago Marching and Recreation Association last night, Mr H. G. Munro being in the, chair. , ' Twenty teams from Alexandra, Gore, Milton, Invercargill, Mataura and Mosgiel have entered for the championships, as well as local teams. Of these, 11 teams are A Grade and the remainder B Grade. The Burns Pipe Band will give a ■ marching, display, and the St. Kilda Pipe Band will play for the maze march, in which all the girls will take part. The winning team of the A Grade will be presented with the Burns Pipe Band Challenge Cup, and the winning B Grade team with the Aotea and Blair Atholl Trophy. Both these teams will be eligible to enter for the New Zealand championships, which will be held in Dunedin next February.
