Miss Noel O’Kane, of Alexandra, has been a visitor to Dunedin. Mrs Mace, of Christchurch, is the guest of her sister, Mrs Ida Miles. Mrs A. S. McMillan, of Burvvood avenue, has returned to Dunedin after spending a holiday with Mrs W. B. Scoular, Matakanui Station.
Mr and Mrs J. H. Jeri'am, of Wellington, who have been the guests of Dr and Mrs C. W. S. Jerram, Hawthorne avenue, returned home yesterday.
Mrs A. Campbell, and her daughter, Miss Shona Dunlop, of Sydney, will arrive in Dunedin at the week-end and will be the guests of the Rev. H. J. Ryburn and Mrs Ryburn, Knox College. Mrs A. Scoular and Mrs V. Jacobs invited friends to a pantry afternoon yesterday at the Savoy, in honour of Miss Pat. McDougall, whose wedding to Mr Charles Sorrell will take place in January.
At the Dunedin Travel Club’s meeting on Wedrfesday Mr N. Y. A. Wales gave an interesting talk on his recent trip to Canada. Tne hostesses were Mrs W. R. Brinsley and Mrs E. F. D’Ath. Mrs Richard Hudson, the president, welcomed the guests, who were Mrs Elizabeth Scott, of London, Miss Myra Harty, of Auckland, Mrs W. T. Campbell, of Clyde, Miss Janet Wilkie, of Melbourne, Mr W. Stevens, of Adelaide, and Messrs P. Kellaway W. Donaldson, and M. Anderson, of Sydney. Major-general H. K. Kippenberger and Mrs Kippenberger, who will be in Dunedin to attend the Wood—Pryor wedding on Wednesday, will be the guests of Dr and Mrs R. Kirk, of London street. While in Dunedin, Major-general Kippenberger will present the prizes at the John McGlashan College breaking-up ceremony, and will also address the pupils of the college.
Mrs I. McKillop, daughter of Lady Sargood, who has been the guest of Mrs S. D. Macpherson, “ Piccadilly,” Newington avenue, expects to leave Dunedin at the end of the week for Auckland, where she will board the Corinthic on her way to England. Hostesses who have entertained Dr Molly Wood, who will be married shortly to Dr W. Pryor, are Mrs W. G. Kindley. Mrs E. N. Cleavin, Mrs J. Ringland, Mrs N. Pryor, and Misses Suzanne Pryor, Joy Smith, Rowena Lindon, Nancy Just, and Joan Tennant. Dr Rae Brown (Oamarul and the sisters and staff nurses of the Oamaru Hospital also entertained Dr Wood.
