Mr G. Maxwell Davies, formerly, of Dunedin, who is lecturer in soils and fertilisers at Massey Agricultural College, will leave for Britain at the end of the year to take up a position as Crop Advisory Officer in the newly constituted National Agricultural Advisory Service of the British Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Mr Davies graduated from Massey College in 1936, gaining the Bledisloe,, Prize as head of his course. Later he was awarded the Gold Medal at Lincoln College in a special course of farm husbandry. He was awarded the D.F.C. in 1942 while serving with Bomber Command during the war, and rose to the rank of acting Squadron Leader.
