Undesirable Films Banned in America
Rec. 10 p.m. NEW YORK, Dec. 3. The Board of Directors of the Motion Picture Association of " America decided to-day to cease distribution of new and old films glorifying gangsters and criminals and films with salacious and obscene titles. Mr Eric Johnston, chairman of the board, announced that the film companies concerned had agreed to stop distribution of 25 films with objectionable titles, including some not yet produced. Among the number of films produced whose further distribution was banned were: “ Dillinger," “ This Gun for Hire ” and “ The Killers.” Titles of new films subr mitted for registration which would be withdrawn would be: “A 1 Capone,” “ Killer for Hire ” and several others of a similar character.
