VISITOR FROM NETHERLANDS P.A. WELLINGTON, Dec. 2. Dutch refugees from Java, who wer6 in New Zealand during the war, after their internment by the Japanese, had given him glowing accounts of the. hospitality and friendliness of New Zealanders, and also of the natural beauties of New Zealand, said Mr H. de Bruin, first Netherlands Agriculture Attache, who arrived from Sydney by the Wahine to-day. He said that the Netherlands was making a good recovery after the ravages of war, and much of the destruction caused by the Germans had been repaired. There was still a shortage of food and textiles, with rationing strictly enforced. Apart from fostering trade between the two countries, his mission was to learn all he could of New Zealand’s dairying and agricultural methods and, if so desired, fo provide any information concerning similar problems in the Netherlands.
