PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES IN TARANAKI

NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 2. No fresh cases of infantile paralysis have been reported in Taranaki. There are at present two positive and three suspect cases. Precautions taken as a result of official advice have had an effect on the number of people in the business areas of New Plymouth Fewer people are shopping, and there are fewer using trams and buses. Extra precautions have been taken in maternity homes, where newly-born children can be seen by anxious fathers only from the other side of a glass screen.
