LODGING HOUSE FIRE
TRAGEDY IN PHILADELPHIA PHILADELHPIA, Dec. 1. Six men are dead and 17 seriously iniured as the result of a fire which swept a four-storey lodging house, in which 70 persons were reported to be The 0 building was a lodging house for homeless men, many of whoin were employed as “streel corner SantaClauses” by big city stores. The firemen’s work was hampered because of sub-freezing weather which turned the water from the hoses to ice.
