GENEROUS TESTATRIX
LARGE SUMS FOR CHARITIES P.A. AUCKLAND, Nov. 30. An estate valued for probate at under £BO,OOO, the bulk of which has been bequeathed to public qharities and social and patriotic organisations, has been left by Miss Edith Rose Isaacs, who died on November 14 at the age of 82. Miss Isaacs was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Edward Isaacs, who were among Auckland’s pioneer settlers. The principal bequest is one of £IO,OOO to be devoted to the furtherance of medical research in New Zealand for the prevention of illness and disease and the alleviation of human suffering. For the purpose of giving effect to her intention, the testatrix desires her sole executor, the Guardian Trust and Executors Company of New Zealand, Ltd., to confer with the executive of the British Medical Association in Auckland and she suggests that a fund may be devoted to the creation of scholarships or bursaries or the equipment of any institution.
