The Junior Red Cross in Dunedin has reeently received donations, amounting to £6 9s 3d. from Moa Creek, Dunback, Wanaka, Allanton, Taieri Beach and Milburn Junior Red Cross circles, while Tomahawk, Miller’s Fiat, Strath Taieri, Queenstown, Dunback, Waipori Falls, Andeson’s Bay, Milton and Becks have sent parcels of clothing, toys and books. Kensington, Anderson’s Bay, Arthur Street and Broad Bay members have visited Kew Convalescent Home, taking books, toys and fruit for the little patients. Reports from secretaries show that all cir-
cles are planning end-of-year activities to raise funds for gifts and Christmas cheer for less fortunate children. At the conclusion of the annual social of the Anderson’s Bay Sub-centre of the Red Cross Society, a large box of toys was packed, each member having brought a gift suitable for Christmas parcel for crippled children. The monthly meeting of the Wedderburn Red Cross was held at the residence of Mrs Clark, who presided. During the month a parcel of wool and jig-saw puzzles was sent to an orphanage in England and a parcel of flannel garments was sent to the Otago centre for overseas. It was decided to send a Christmas hamper to Montecillo Convalescent Home.
