COASTAL SHOWERS The official weather forecast, covering the ensuing 24 hours, which was issued yesterday by the Mctem oiogical Office in Wellington, is;— Situation.—An anti-cyclone lies in the South Tasman Sea, and a depression in the North Tasman is moving rapidly south-eastward. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Moder-ate to fresh winds from a southerly quarter. Weather cloudy and cold, with a few passing showers, chiefly near the coast. v Further Outlook. —Mainly fair. Weather in Dunedin.—Steady rain during Sunday night was followed by a dull, cool day in the city yesterday, with only 42 minutes of sunshine recorded. The temperature ranged from 41.8 degrees to 50.2 degrees, with the minimum ieading on the grass 40.1 degrees. The rainfall was 0.58 inches in the 24 nours up to 9.30 yesterday morning. The wmd was from the south-vest. The barometer was rising slightly at midnight, when t.ie reading was 30.08 inches (1018 millibars). SUMMARY FOR NOVEMBER A summary of the weather recordstaken in Dunedin during the month of> November is:— Rainfall.—Total fall, 1.43 Inches; number of rain days, 14; greatest fall for one day, 0.58 inches (November 30). Sunshine.—Total sunshine, 148 hr 51min; number of days with sunshine, 27; greatest period of daily sunshine, 13hr 3min (November 1). Temperatures.—Average maximum, 62.9 degrees; average minimum,. 47.3 degrees;' average grass minimum, 42.3 degrees; highest recorded, 73.9 degrees (November 5); lowest recorded—air, 34.2 degrees (November 1 and 2), grass, 23.9 degrees (November 1).
