MEMORIAL MARCH
AN IMPRESSIVE CEREMONY P.A. WELLINGTON, Dec. 1. At the Wairarapa provincial girls’ marching competitions at Carterton on Saturday afternoon, after the competitive marching, the girls held a memorial march and formed a cross in memory of their marching comrades who lost their lives in Ballantyne’s fire in Christchurch. “Abide With Me” was sung, and the incident was very impressive, the large crowd standing with bowed heads and joining in the singing.
