JUMP INTO HARBOUR
MAN NEARLY DROWNED The prompt action of his friend saved a young man from drowning at Port Chalmers at 7.45 on Saturday evening. Apparently in a rather depressed state of mind, owing to a war injury, the young man jumped off the wharf and was brought ashore by his companion in an unconscious condition. Artificial respiration was successfully applied, although it was “ touch and go.” It is believed that court proceedings will follow the episode.
