BUSY WEEK-END

BELLONA AT DUNEDIN THROWN OPEN TO PUBLIC Crowds swarmed over H.M.N.Z.S. Bellona, lying at Birch,, street wharf yesterday afternoon, when the cruiser was thrown open for public inspection. The Bellona is expected to sail at 6 o’clock this morning for Akaroa, where she will stay for two days before sailing for Wellington. On Saturday moi'ning the Bellona was visited by 27 Sea Cadets of the Otago Division of the New Zealand Navy League, and a boat race of about a mile was held between a crew of seamen boys from the Bellona and a crew fi'om the cadets. Twenty-seven - foot whalers were used, and the Bellona crew won by about three lengths. The race attracted considerable interest. The ship was open to the public in the afternoon.
