DEBATE ON COMMUNISM

CHALLENGE TO MINISTER p.A WELLINGTON, Nov. 28. Prepared to fly to the West Coast at his own expense to meet the Minister of Rehabilitation, Mr Skinner, in a public debate on Communism at Westport and Greymouth, Mr Alexander Galbraith, of Wellington, formerly a prominent member of the Labour Party and a foundation member of the Communist Party in New Zealand, sent a written challenge today to the Minister. Mr Galbraith in a letter said he would leave it to his old comrades on the West Coast to be the judge whether the Minister was right in his opinions on Communists, and suggested that a collection be taken up at each meeting for the Aid to Britain Fund.
