BRASS BANDS’ QUICKSTEP

ALTERATION OF COURSE OBJECTION BY OAMARU Special to the Daily Times. OAMARU, Nov. 28. At a meeting of the Oamaru Garrison Band last night strong objection was raised to the alteration of the brass band quickstep for the 1948 Dominion Contest to be.held in Dunedin in February. The band chairman, Mr A. Nuttall, said that at the last Dominion conference held at Wanganui the quickstep had been fully discussed, and the only alteration approved was the deletion of the inspection. No authority had been granted for an alteration in the actual course. It was decided to write to the controlling organisation, seeking the reason for the changes.
