INQUIRY TO BE HELD
MOTION PICTURE INDUSTRY
PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE Parliamentary Reporter WELLINGTON, Nov. 27.
An inquiry is to be made into the motion picture industry in New Zealand by a Parliamentary Committee of 11 members which will sit during the recess and report to the House of Representatives within 28 days of the commencement of the next session of Parliament. Authority for the appointment of the committee was given by the House to-day on a motion moved by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr Nordmeyer. The committee, the proceedings of which during the taking of evidence will be open to accredited representatives of the press, will comprise:— Messrs W. T. Anderton (Govt., Auckland Central), C. M. Bowden (Oppn., Karori), W. J. Broadfoot (Oppn., Waitomo), W H. Fortune (Oppn., Eden), T. L. Macdonald (Oppn., Wallace), R. M. Macfarlane (Govt., Christchurch Central), C. R. Petrie (Govt., Otahuhu), Mrs Hilda Ross (Oppn., Hamilton), R. Walls (Govt., Dunedin North), G. H. O. Wilson (Govt., Palmerston North), and Nordmeyer.
