SUPPLY REGULATIONS
QUESTION OF CONTINUANCE
COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE Parliamentary Reporter
•WELLINGTON, Nov. 27.
The appointment of a Select Committee of 11 members of the IJouse of Representatives to consider the desirability or otherwise of retention of the emergency regulations contained in the schedules to the Supply Regulations Act and the Emergency Regulations Continuance Act was approved by the House to-day. This was in accordance with the agreement made between the Government and the Opposition when the two Bills were before the House the previous day. The committee, which was given power to sit during the recess, is to report to the House within 28 days after the commencement of the next session of Parliament.
The personnel of the committee is:— Messrs R. M. Algie (Oppn., Tauranga), C. L. Carr (Govt., Timaru), J. B. F. Cotterill (Govt., Wanganui), R. M. Finlay (Govt.. North Shore), R. G. Gerard (Oppn., Ashburton), the Minister of Justice, H. G. R. Mason, J. R. Marshall (Oppn., Mount Victoria), J. Mathison (Govt., Avon), M. H. Oram (Oppn., Manawatu), A. G. Osborne (Govt., Onehunga), and J. T. Watts (Oppn., St. Albans).
