FORCES CONVERGING
PAOTING BATTLE IMMINENT CHINESE COMMUNISTS ON MOVE Rec 9 p.m. NANKING, Nov. 27. A battle for Paoting is imminent, according to despatches reaching Nanking stating that large Communist forces numbering over 100,000 have by-passed Wangtu and are converging on the city Fierce fighting is reported midway between Paoting and Wangtu as the Nationalist forces attempt to take the initiative. Other reports say the Paoting city authorities conscripted the local population in the building and strengthening of fortifications.
