A Gazette Issued last night announced the relinquishment of the appointment of Deputy Chief of the General Staff. Army Headquarters, by Colonel (Temporary Brigadier) W. G. Gentry, and the appointment to that position of Lieutenantcolonel J. I. Brooke, who is granted the temporary rank of colonel. Mr R. F. Jones, who has been manager of the Empire Forwarding Company, Invercargill, for the past 20 years, has accepted a managerial position in Dunedin. and is expected to begin his new duties early next year. He is at present the president of the Invercargill Chamber of Commerce.
