CHICAGO PAPERS AFFECTED
STRIKE FOR WAGE INCREASE
Rec. 9 p.m. CHICAGO. Nov. 24. Union printers, after five months dispute with the proprietors, went on strike to-night against Chicago s six daily newspapers. They are striking to support their demands for a wage increase and a proposal designed to void the Taft-Hartley labour law. Five carloads of pickets left the union meeting hall half an hour after the walk-out to establish token lines at newspaper offices. The Chicago Tribune announced that it would continue publishing by means of typewritten copy reproduced by a photoengraving . process.
