Ashley, over the hold-up of ships at Sydney through the tally clerks’ dispute. Senator Ashley has been asked to free ships from the disPU Meanwhile, the Federal Executive of the Clerks’ Union, which has instructed tally clerks in Sydney and Melbourne not to handle wool until the clerks employed by woolbrokers join the union, has decided to extend the dispute to all ports unless agreement is reached to-morrow. Although the ban was imposed only yesterday, wool worth £3,000.000 is already involved.
