TRAFFIC OFFENCES
LONG LIST OF CASES A large number of traffic offences were dealt with by Mr J. D. Willis, S.M., in the City Police Court yesterday. Arising out of a collision in Hereford street, Roslyn, between the car he was driving and a City Corporation bus, John La Hood (Mr R. G. Calvert) was charged with failing to give wgy to traffic on the right. After evidence had been given, the defendant was fined £3 and costs (10s) Elizabeth Maxwell Martin was lined £2 and costs (10s) for failing to give way to traffic on the right. For parking in excess of the time limit, Kareen Elias Alexander, George Andrew Bertenshaw, Collins, Marjorie Mary Ferguson, Herbert Arundel Glasson, Charles Grant Hinchcliff, James Francis Kean, Ailes Winnie Lawson, Stanley Leith, Alfred Victor Miller, James Hamilton Mitchell. James Frederick McCartney, Michael George McLennan, Isabella Fanny Poole, David Waiter Robinson, Edward Albert Smith and Edward Smith were each fined 10s and costs (10s). On a similar charge, Peter Dalliessi, who had a previous conviction, was fined 20s and costs (10s) and Duncan Robinson MacDiarmid, who was represented by Mr A. J. H. Jeavons, was ordered to pay costs (10s). William Bramwell Robert (Mr K. W. Stewart) pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to keep to the left of a roadway, and was fined 10s and costs (10s). Albert Edward Williams (Mr C. G. Gray) pleaded not guilty to a similar charge, the case being dismissed. ' For driving without due care, Walter Wallace McDonald was fined £4 and costs (10s). Neil Clarke Gregory was fined £2 10s and costs (10s) for exceeding a speed of 30 miles an hour on his motor cycle. For parking in a prohibited area, Frank John Coory was fined 10s and costs (11s), and Arthur James Ruddock and Thelma Simm 10s and costs (10s). Similar penalties were imposed on Esperance Batham and Frances Oakland William Grass for parking near fireplugs. Herbert Wilson Scott, who admitted parking near a corner, was fined 10s and costs (10s). Fines of 10s and costs (10s) were imposed on Norman Tonkin Yep Jessie Campbell McConnell for having no warrants of fitness.
For riding an unlighted bicycle, George William Berryman and Percival Redganail Nicholls were each fined 10s and cost's (10s).
