SHEEP DOG ASSOCIATION
EXECUTIVE MEETING The need for a new rule book was stressed at a meeting of the Otago Provincial Sheep Dog Association last night. Several by-laws in the South Island Association’s book were dis cussed and the opinions of clubs cot sidered. It was decided on the motion of Mr M. A. Matheson to forward recommendations for amendments to the South Island Executive. Mr W. S. Thomson presided at tne meeting, which was also attended by Messrs M. A. Matheson, V. Parkei, K. Reid and D. Sutherland. . f An application was received from the Heriot club seeking permission to sponsor an Otago championship meeting at a future date. Mr Parker moved that the club's request be favourably considered provided that a suitable ground and accommodation for visiting competitors could be arranged. The Warepa Club advised that it had decided to lapse its trials for one year and asked if it was' required to pay affiliation fees to the South Island and Otago Associations. The e , xe , c . ut 'i' e decided to charge the club .half the normal fee and request a remission from the South Island Association. Reference was made to the recent visit of Messrs H. H. Harris (Taihape) and P. G. L. McKenzie (North Auckland) to Australian dog trials, and it .was decided to write and congratulate them on their initiative. The hope was expressed that reciprocal visits from Australian competitors could be paid.
