THE WEATHER
SCATTERED SHOWERS The following official weather forecast, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation;—An anti-cyclone is over northern New Zealand, and a depression lies in the Western Tasman witfi a low pressure trough extending south-east over the South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Mod-erate south-west winds freshening during the day. Weather cloudy, with scattered showers and temperatures moderate. Further Outlook.—Coastal showers. Weather in Dunedin.—Yesterday was warm and dull in the city, the total amount of sunshine being only 12 minutes. The temperature' ranged from 50.3 degrees up to 70.2 degrees. The grass minimum was 41.6 degrees. There was a moderate breeze from the west. The barometer was steady, the reading at midnight being 29.77 inches (1008 millibars).
