SUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT
TEN MILE TRACK RECORD P.A. NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 25. In a special attempt to lower the New Zealand 10-mile track record at Pukekura Park, New Plymouth, tonight, W. J. Wells, national .crosscountry champion, was successful by lmin 17 2-ssec. Wells ran the distance in 52min 20 l-ssec. or The previous record of 53mm 27 3-ssec was established' by G. L. Austin at Dunedin in 1942.
