MAIL BAG MISSING
WAGES OF HOSPITAL STAFF AMONG CONTENTS
P.A. | AUCKLAND, Nov. 24. A police search proceeded through the week-end for a mail oag containing a sum of money which disappeared on Friday between Te Puia Springs where it was loaded on to a truck, and Waipiro Bay, on the east coast. Toe bag contained only a few letters, among which was a large envelope containing the wages of the Waipiro Bay maternity hospital staff. The drivers and mail transferred at a meeting place between north and southbound trucks near Waipiro, where the bag was found to be missing on the arrival of the truck.
