HUSBAND ARRESTED

revolver shots at wife ALLEGED p A NAPIER, Nov. 24. Arrested by a constable at Puketapu on Saturday after an alleged assault on his wife, during which shots are stated to have been fired from a revolver, a young man, Leon ShadracK Woods, of Puketapu, appeared, before justices in the Napier Magistrates Court this morning, charged with assaulting Rosalie Temaine Woods. Senior Detective D. McKenzie said the accused allegedly fired several shots at his wife and another man. He added that there would probably be further charges, involving the presenting of a firearm. “The accused had in his possession three rifles, only one of which was registered, also a revolver not registered in the accused’s name,” said Mr McKenzie. Woods was remanded in custody to December 1.
