MEAT SHORTAGE FACED IN SYDNEY

SYDNEY, Nov. 21. Efforts to induce striking building workers to resume at the State abattoirs having failed to-day, Sydney faces a meat shortage next week, rhere will be no slaughtering on Monday or Tuesday, and possibly Wednesday while the boilers are dismantled for repairs. Two bricklayers are needed to reline the boilers over the weekend, but the job has been declared black since the building workers went on strike on November 4 for a wage increase. The men have agreed to resume work on Monday while their claim is considered by the court, but only a continuous job throughout the week-end could have averted the ces sation of slaughtering.
