FIRE ON COURSE
BROADCASTING BOX OUTBREAK P.A. WELLINGTON, Nov. 22. Spectators were cleared from one of the large public stands at Hutt Park this morning when a fire began in the broadcasting box. The outbreak, which occurred just before the first race, was a sensational beginning to the first day of the Wellington Trotting Club’s spring meeting. Spectators lost no time in departing from the stand, which is near the totalisator house. Two engines from Lower Hutt and one from Petone attended, and the outbreak was soon in hand.
