PURCHASE OF CINEMAS
ODEON INTERESTS’ OFFER Rec 11 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 23. The Rank Organisation announced that Odeon Theatres, Ltd., had offered to purchase all the issued share capital in the General Cinema Finance CorP °The° n, Rank organisation controls both concerns, but the closer association now planned is expected to meet objections that the exhibition side of the industry has no stake in British fii The r announcement added that the new association would help to increase British film production Odeon interests own theatres throughout the world, including 143 in New Zealand. The General Cinema Finance Corporation has a controlling interest in the British Picture Corporation, Ltd., and investments in other cinema and studio-owning companies.
