DEATH ROLL COMPLETE

TOTAL OF 41 PERSONS P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 22. The death roll in Ballantyne’s fire can now be fairly definitely fixed at 41, said a police officer this afternoon, in addition to the three persons .who were injured before they escaped from the flames. “It has been established that 40 bodies have been removed since the fire,” said the officer. “The death in hospital of one of the victims increases the total to 41, which appears likely to be the final figure,” he added. Those confirmed as missing by the police, now completing the list of probable victims, are Rosalind Hayman, single, aged 20, of 23 Mayfield avenue, who was employed in the millinery department, and William John Hudson, married, aged 48, of 197 Clyde road, secretary of the company.
