RECOUNTING OF CITY VOTES ST. KILDA MAYORALTY Work is still proceeding on the recounting of votes polled in the local body election in the city and it is expected that the final figures will be available on Monday. The recount of' the voting for the mayoralty of St. Kilda was completed yesterday, Mr W. Rutherford’s, lead of 129 votes being reduced to 116. The final figures were:—Rutherford (Ind.) 1270, E. Longworth (Ind.) 1154, P. Cull (L.) 1032, informal 48. After the official recount, the voting for the representative of the Otago Hospital Board for the combined districts of St. Kilda, Green Island and the Peninsula were:—J. W. Dove (Ind.) 3416 P. Cull (L.) 2401, informal 52. The St. Kilda Borough Council recount should be completed to-day. The official count of the Port Chalmers Borough Council election was completed yesterday and the final figures were announced: —Watson, H. S. (I.) 912; Neilson, L. J. (I.) 796; Forgie, J G. (I.) 783; Austin, R. J. N., 756; Knewstubb, J. T., 752; Campbell, W. D. (L.), 692; Smith, F. C. (L.) 672; Reeves, R. E. S. (L.), 643; Bayliss, T. J. (I.), 567; Williamson, H. L. (L.), 565. The above were elected. Lewis, C. G. (L.) 493; Johnson, M. (L.), 438; Currie, R. W. (L.), 403; Mains, A. (L.), 390; E Peterson, 262; W. J. Waugh, 259. There were 13 informal votes cast The ninth seat on the Green Island Borough Council has been won by Mr A. I. Mitchell.. After the preliminary count Mr Mitchell and Mr W. S. Poupart were equal with 594 votes each for the last place on the council, but the recount, which was completed yesterday, credits Mr Mitchell with 600 votes and Mr Poupart with 595. The final figures are:—T. McAhan 722, D G. Ballantine 705, L. McG. Burgess 690, C. R. Freeman 689, F. W. Gray 652, F. I. Parata 646, D. G. Stewart 634, A. J. Pottinger 616, I. A. Mitchell 600 (elected); W. S. Poupart 595. A. J. M. Labes 584, H. M. Middlemiss 557, W/A. Miller 518, R. R. Hay 491, J. A. Wilson 478, Mrs S, A. Harrison 450, G. R. Simpson 416; informal 20.

Final results for the Peninsula County Council are as follows:—NorthEast Harbour: J. F. Nelson 332; O. E. Macfie 332 (elected), G. F. Bewley 288, informal 3. Broad Bay: J. Jensen 191, A. Botting 158 (elected), W. R. Wilson 157, D. S. Fleming 88, informal 9. The final count in the Earnscleugh riding of the Vincent County resulted in one more vote for W. H. Hinton, the figures being: W. H. Hinton 166 (elected), E. E. Love 162, informal 1. Great interest was taken in the election, the poll being the heaviest ever taken in the riding. Final figures for the Clutha County are as follows:—Clutha Riding: Adam Harris'lßl (elected), John Morrison 172, informal 1. Harris increased his lead by one vote. Catlins Riding: Lake Falconer 244 (elected), G. G. Matheson 210, J H. Pagey 153, informal 4. Falconer increased his majority by 18 votes
