SCOUT AND CUB NOTES

St. Patrick's Cub Pack held a successful picnic at Maruako-a recently. St. Patrick’s Gioup will hold its second birthday on Saturday, November 22, at 6 p.m. The Waitaki Troop will hold a camp in December prior to the school breaking up. The fourth birthday party of the Highland Group was held last Thursday, when Commissioner W. H. S. Widdowson presented Cubmaster Kemp with her Part 1 Cub Gilwell Certificate and Patrol Leader M. F. Maynard with his Part 1 Sandford Certificate. Patrol Leader G. Manson, of Highland Troop, has also passed his Part 1 patrol correspondence course.

Warrants have been received for Cubmaster P. W. E. Pinder (Windsor Group) and Assistant Cubmaster E. E. Kay (Highland Group). Patrol leaders' Sandford Certificates for Patrol Leaders D. Turvey and O. J. Rodgers have been received. The welcome home to the jamboree Scouts will be held on December 13, in St. Paul’s Hall at 7.30 p.m. Cubmasters and Scoutmasters are asked to attend a special meeting in St. Paul’s Hall on December 9.

Teams for the R.S.A. ambulance competition on November 29 will wear full uniform, including a staff and a 9-ffoot length of rope attached to the belt. Each team will provide its own bandages and splints. , , , St. Paul’s Cubs and Scouts will hold a bottle drive on Saturday, November 22.
