Twelve Citizen Members Twelve members of the Citizens’ Association “ ticket the new City Council, and of these seven—Messrs E. J. C. J. Hayward, N. D. Anderson, J. G. Barnes, T. K. S. Sidey, W. S. Armitage, and E. J. Smith—are new members, although Mr Smith has previously held office on the council. Mr P. G. Connolly, M.P., headed the list of the defeated Labour candidates, a margin of 208 votes separating him from the twelfth elected member. In .addition to Mr Connolly. Dr D. G. McMillan, Messrs R. Walls. M.P., W.’ A. Hudson, M.P., M. Connelly, M.L.C., and Dr M. F. H. Blain wefc sitting''members of the council who were defeated. Details of the polling are:—
