SHOOTING OF WOMAN
ACCUSED FOUND GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER RECOMMENDATION TO MERCY ' P.A. NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 19. Not guilty of ;murder, but guilty of manslaughter, with the strongest recommendation to mercy, was the verdict in the Supreme Court to-night at the conclusion of The. trial of Herbert Edward Pearce, aged 21, a farm hand, charged with shooting Mrs Georgina Harwood at Tututawa on August 13. “ The court will give the (fullest consideration to your recommendation, with which I am ('entirely in. agreement under the ".circumstances.” Mr Justice Fair told the jury, Pearce was remanded for sentence till to-morrow.
