RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION Association was attended by Messrs E. C. Stanton (in the chair), Parr Moss, Smith. Chisholm Mclnnes. G. Mr Mclnnes was appointed a delegate to meet the Gardens Business Association in connection with the erection of Pylon-* at the Gardens corner during the forth coming centennial celebrations. , The matter of supporting ‘he Gardens Business Association in the selection ol a site, and the raising of funds to erect Plunket rooms was deferred until the next quarterly meeting. , . The Anderson’s Bay Association wrote soliciting support for th reclamation of the Anderson s Bay Inlet —The executive considered that the proposal was worthwhile, and decided to supReturned Services’ Association wrote requesting assistance from association members in canvassing the NorthEast Valley district for the sale of poppies next year.—The matter will be discussed at the next quarterly meeting. Messrs Corkin, Chisholm and Mclnnes were elected a sub-committee to inspect the district with an officer of the Fire Brigade to ascertain the hazards arising from the gorse menace. Tire following notifications were received from the town clerk:—(l) The council had approved of the widening of the intersection of Frame and Maybank streets; (2) an assurance was given that the guttering on streets which were now being sealed would receive attention; (S) Instructions had been given to have the lower portion of Glencairn street widened; (4) no funds were available for the construction of kerbing and channelling on the eastern side of Ramsay street, but instructions had been given to the city engineer to include the work for consideration next financial year.
