THE WEATHER
UNSETTLED CONDITIONS The following official weather forecast covering the ensuing 24 hours was issued yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.— An anti-cyclone covers the Tasman Sea. Pressure is low, falling cast and south of New Zealand. ( -A Forecast to 5 pan. To-day.—Fresh to strong south-west winds, reaching gale force at times in exposed positions. Weather cool and unsettled with showers at times, chiefly about South Otago and coastal districts. Further Outlook.— Changeable. Weather in Dunedin. —A cold south-west wind brought low temperatures and occasional showers to the city yesterday. The sun shone for 2 hours 24 minutes and the highest temperature recorded was 49.0 degrees. The minimum was 41.1 and the grass minimum 37.6 degrees. The rainfall to 9.30 yesterday morning was 0.02 inches. The barometer remained steady throughout the day, the reading at midnight being 30.18 inches (1022 millibars).
