BELOW TARGET

BRITAIN’S COAL PRODUCTION LONDON. Nov. 17.

Mr Arthur Horner,, general secretary of the National Union of Mineworkers, speaking at Slough, said he did not think the Coal Board’s target of 200,000,000 tons output for 1947 would be achieved. He added that the output would be about 196,000,000 or 197.000.000 tons. With the present stock of 17,000.000 tons, compared with 10,000,000 in 1945, there was no danger of rerieating last winter’s fuel crisis.
