FIGHTING CANCER

VALUE OF ULTRA SHORT WAVES LONDON, Nov. 16. Experiments with ultra-short-wave radio, developed largely during the war, are to be carried out by three specialists, who believe it may help cancer sufferers. They have been granted £SOOO by the North of England Cancer Council to finance the research. One of the specialists, Dr C. J. Thurger, told the Daily Express last night: “We do not want to build up false hopes, but we are confident that ultra-short waves will probably cure some forms of cancer.” A definite answer would be given within two years.
