FAIR TO CLOUDY The following official weather forecast, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington : Situation.—An anti-cyclone extends from Tasmania across northern New Zealand, and pressure is low far to the south of the South Island. Forecast to 5 pan. To-day.— Moderate south-west winds; weather fair and cool. Further Outlook. —Fair to cloudy and cool. Weather in Dunedin.—After a typical summer’s morning, heavy clouds obscured the sun, and the afternoon was dull. A total of Bhr 12min of sunshine was recorded, the temperatures varying from 60.3 deg to 49.3 deg. The grass •> minimum was 36.1 deg. The wind, no more than a cool breeze in the morning, grew stronger and colder as it changed from the south-east to the south. At midnight the barometer was still rising, the reading being 30.12 in (1020 millibars).
