THE WEATHER
FAIR TO CLOUDY ' The following official weather forecast covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.—An anti-cyclone south o£ the South Island extends over New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Moder-ate winds from an easterly quarter. Weather cloudy with some scattered mist or drizzle near the coast, but fair elsewhere. Temperatures moderate. Further Outlook. —Fair to cloudy. ’ Weather in Dunedin.—No sunshine was recorded in Dunedin yesterday, and there was a cloudy to overcast sky. Rain amounting to 0.12 in fell during the morning, and tempei atures weie only moderate, the maximum registered being 50.5 degrees, the minimum 47.3 degrees, and the grass minimum 45.8 degrees. There was a light south-east wind. Pressures were steady during the day and at midnight a rising barometer recorded 30.27 degrees (1025 millibars).
