WOOL AND MEAT CUP

Won by Mr R. K. Ireland At the Canterbury A. and P. Show, Mr R. K. Ireland won the Wool and Meat Cup for the best animal in the beef cattle breeds in the show. Mr Ireland secured second place in this competition last year. He gained the first award for three-year-old Aberdeen Angus heifer and fourth place for yearling Aberdeen Angus heifei The cattle exhibited were from Mr Ireland’s Mount Pleasant property, Oamaru. Mrs V. V. Meikle secured first prize for the best exhibition of fancy work in the show, and first prize for, a handworked handkerchief. She also gained second prize in the coloured fancy work section and second in the white fanejwork section.
