BOARD SECRETARY

A report has been circulated that at a special meeting of the Waitaki High School Board of Governors the resignation of the secretary, Mr D. V. G. Smith, was considered, and that the board deferred its decision. The chairman. Mr J. C. Kirkness, stated yesterday that the board had resolved not to accept the resignation, and had asked Mr Smith to reconsider his decision. An amendment that the matter be deferred until the new board met lapsed for want of a seconder, and later Mr Smith advised the board that he would accede to its request
